How to Make the Paper Plate Santa Mickey Craft

This Mickey Mouse craft is ideal for parents, teachers, or caregivers. It’s straightforward enough to keep younger kids entertained while also offering opportunities for older children to get creative. 

Plus, it’s a great way to keep those little hands busy while you prep for the holidays. 

So grab your supplies—paper plates, black paint, glue sticks, and a bit of holiday spirit—and let’s get started!

Supplies:

• Three paper plates
• Red and black paint
• Red, yellow, white, and black construction paper
• Scissors
• Glue
• Cotton balls

Instructions:

The first step is to cut the centers out of two paper plates.

On the third plate, paint the bottom half red.

Then, paint the other half black.

Take the two plate centers and paint them black. Allow the paint to dry.

Mom Tip: The paint job doesn’t have to be perfect where the two colors meet. The belt will cover this section.

Glue the two smaller black circles to the back of the plate, on the black half, for Mickey’s ears. 

While the glue dries, cut out one long black rectangle, one yellow square that fits over the black rectangle, the hat shape out of red (make it small enough to just fit between the ears), a long white rectangle the length of the bottom of the hat, and a small white circle.

Glue the black rectangle over the divide on the plate and the yellow square to the center of the black rectangle.

Glue the white rectangle to the front of the plate, between the ears. Glue the hat to the white rectangle and the circle to the point of the hat. You can glue the hat directly to the ears for extra stability.

Glue cotton balls to the white parts.

And that’s it! Now you have the cutest little craft made by your kiddos! Cute, right!?
