How to Make Mickey-Shaped Pizzas
Creating these adorable pretzel pizzas doesn’t require a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. Most of the ingredients can be found in your pantry or a quick trip to the store.

Bake Time: 12 minutes
Rise Time: 1 hour
Additional Time: 4 minutes Total Time: 1 hour 36 minutes
Ingredients:
Pretzels:
- 41⁄2 Cflour
- 1 1⁄2 C lukewarm water
- 1 Tbsp light brown sugar
- 2 tsp kosher salt
- 2 1⁄4 tsp fast acting dry yeast

Instructions:
First, add warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Whisk to dissolve the yeast.
Set aside for 5-10 minutes or until foamy.
Add the flour, salt, and melted butter. Using your hands, mix until the dough forms.
Knead the pretzel dough with your hands for 8-10 minutes or until the dough is smooth. Grease a large bowl.
Add the pretzel dough in the greased bowl.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
Put the covered bowl in a warm place for about 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
Prepare the baking sheet with parchment paper.
Put the pretzel dough on a counter. Divide the dough into equal pieces.
Roll out each of 8 pieces of dough into 24-inch ropes.

Form one large pretzel circle by twisting the pretzel rope into a large circle.
You may want to divide one of the 24 inch ropes into two pieces.
Form two separate smaller circles by twisting the pretzel rope into Mickey’s ears. Pinch the ears to the head pretzel. Stick a toothpick in each ear to hold it in place. Transfer the formed Mickey pretzel to a prepared baking sheet.

Baking soda bath:
- Add water and baking soda in a large pot over high heat bringing the mixture to a boil.
- Carefully and gently place the pretzels into boiling water for 10 seconds on each side of the pretzel.
Prepping the pretzels:
- Whisk the large egg yolk and water in a medium bowl. Transfer the boiled pretzels to the baking sheet.
- Brush the top side of each pretzel with the egg wash mixture. Sprinkle the top of each pretzel with coarse sea salt.
Baking the pretzels:
Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes. The pretzels will be a dark golden brown.

Spoon one tablespoon of pizza sauce on the circles of Mickey’s head. Sprinkle the shredded pizza cheese on each pizza.

Add 8-10 mini pepperonis on each of the pizzas.
Return them to the oven until the cheese has melted.
And that’s it! Delicious pretzel pizzas ready to eat.

Serve Mickey’s Pretzel Pizza fresh out of the oven with a side of cheese sauce or marinara for dipping.
Storage Suggestion: If you have leftovers (which I doubt!), store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They’ll stay fresh for up to 2 days.
Tips for the Mickey Pretzels
- When forming Mickey’s head and ears, make sure to pinch the dough tightly so the mixture sticks together while baking.
- For best results, make sure the dough is at room temperature before shaping. I don’t know the science behind this, it just works best lol.
- If you need to pause, wrap the dough in cling wrap or plastic wrap to keep it from drying out.
- Swap mini pepperoni for pepperoni crumbles or add other toppings like olives, bell peppers, or mushrooms. Whatever it is you prefer, go for it!

FAQ
Can I use store-bought dough for these pretzels?
Absolutely! Using store-bought pizza dough is a great way to save time, and aren’t we all trying to do that!?
Can I make these pretzels ahead of time?
Yes! You can make the pretzels, shape them, and freeze them before the water bath. When ready to bake, let them thaw, dip in the soda mixture, and continue as directed.
What dipping sauces go well with Mickey’s Pretzel Pizza?
In my opinion, these pair perfectly with a variety of dipping sauces. Try serving them with cheese sauce, marinara, ranch, hot honey, or even a little bit of honey mustard for a sweet and savory combination.
