Closing the night at Epcot is, in my book, the best way to close out a Disney night.
The park transforms as the evening settles in, especially around World Showcase, where the lights reflect on the water and the pavilions take on a magical glow. It’s the best!
Whether you’re exploring the Frozen Ever After ride in Norway or catching the nighttime fireworks show, Luminous The Symphony of Us, the atmosphere is unlike anything you’ll experience during the day.
Oh, and if you’re a fan of Disney’s festivals, the evenings offer a perfect time to stroll through the booths and savor the culinary treats of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival or Flower & Garden Festival.

Knowing Epcot’s hours is key to making the most of your day, especially since the park’s opening time and closing time can vary.
Understanding how the hours change with seasons, holidays, and special events can help you plan your visit more efficiently.
So, whether you’re trying to maximize your time on the most popular attractions like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure or just want to soak in the evening ambiance at World Showcase, knowing the hours will really help so you don’t miss out on anything you want to do.

Epcot typically opens at 9 AM, but keep in mind that World Showcase won’t open until 11am. Future World and World Showcase operate on different schedules.
While the entire park is accessible starting at 9 AM, some attractions, kiosks and some restaurants in World Showcase may not open until later in the morning.
This is useful to know, because it can help you plan better. If you know world showcase hours are less than the rest of the park, try to knock out the rides and attractions in World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature later on at night when wait times might be less.
Closing times can vary, but for most days the park closes around 9 PM. This can change based on seasons and special events though.
Seasonal and Holiday Park Hour Changes
During peak travel times, like spring break or the holiday season, Epcot park hours may be extended.
For example, during Christmas or New Year’s Eve, the park can stay open as late as 10 PM or even later.

To stay updated on Epcot’s hours, it’s best to use the My Disney Experience app. The app provides real-time updates on standard closing times, attraction wait times, and any extended hours that may be available for resort guests.
You can also check the official Disney website or the park calendar for any special events or hour changes.
Extended Evening Hours for Resort Guests
Guests staying at Deluxe Disney resort hotels can take advantage of extended evening theme park hours on select nights.
This benefit of extra magic hours allows guests to stay longer in the park after it closes to regular day guests, which means fewer crowds and shorter wait times for some of Epcot’s most popular attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Frozen Ever After.
That is another reason why I try to justify the Deluxe resort prices to my husband 😉

One of the highlights of staying late at Epcot is catching Epcot’s Luminous fireworks show that take place around the World Showcase Lagoon.
The show features a mix of fireworks, projections, and music, providing a beautiful and emotional way to end your day. It’s really cool, but you’ll want to make sure you secure a good spot around the lagoon, otherwise it can be hard to see a lot of the light show portion.
PRO TIP: Check out dessert parties or get a reservation at a restaurant on the lagoon for an extra special fireworks experience

Best Time to Ride Epcot Rides
The last hour before Epcot closes is often the best time to hit your favorite attractions.
The lines are typically shorter, and you’ll get to experience a calmer park. Check the posted wait times in the My Disney Experience app to find out when it’s best to hop in line for rides like Test Track or Frozen Ever After.
While quite a few people flock to the World Showcase at night, it’s a good time to go check out World Celebration and all the other things Epcot has to offer outside of World Showcase.
For instance, doing Moana’s walkthrough experience is so cool at night! Highly recommend!
Dining Options
World Showcase is known for its incredible dining options, and staying late at Epcot gives you access to some of the best restaurants in all of Walt Disney World.
If you’re looking for a late-night dinner spot, Le Cellier Steakhouse in the Canada Pavilion offers an unforgettable meal. It’s known for its fine dining atmosphere and delicious steak options. It’s a must-do at least once in my opinion.
Another favorite is La Hacienda de San Angel in the Mexico Pavilion. Situated on the edge of World Showcase Lagoon, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxing meal while watching the evening fireworks.

If you’d prefer something a little quicker, the festival booths often remain open until the park closes, giving you access to unique food and beverage options during Epcot’s many festivals.
Maximize the Evening
Evenings at Epcot have a certain magic to them. The entire atmosphere of World Showcase changes after dark. Taking in the cultural atmosphere is a must.
Each pavilion offers unique architecture and ambiance, and nighttime is when World Showcase truly shines.
If you prefer to hit up attractions, evening is the best time to visit Future World (or World Nature and World Discovery, depending on your visit).
You’ll often find shorter lines for popular rides like Test Track and Soarin’ Around the World as many guests head back to their hotels. The last hour before the park closes is a prime time to ride some of these attractions without the midday crowds to skip those long lines.
Disney Transportation Options
Once Epcot closes, getting back to your resort or hotel isn’t too complicated, thanks to Disney’s excellent transportation system.
If you’re staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, the Disney buses will be running after the park closes, shuttling guests to their respective resorts.
If your hotel is connected to the Disney Skyliner, like Disney’s Riviera Resort, you can also take a scenic ride back via the gondolas. You’ll just have to make sure to exit out the International Gateway Entrance.
Another option is the monorail. if you are staying at a monorail resort!
For guests staying offsite, rideshare options like Uber and Lyft are easily accessible and often the quickest way to get back to your hotel after a long day at Epcot. Just be prepared for some potential wait times as many guests leave at the same time.
If staying at Yacht & Beach Club, the BoardWalk Inn, or Swan and Dolphin, you can actually walk back to your hotel room. If you leave during the fireworks, you can watch them from the bridge.
If you drive to Epcot, parking can get crowded after the park closes, especially if you’re leaving with the majority of guests.
To avoid the rush, consider lingering in the World Showcase or the gift shops for an few extra minutes. This way, you can let the crowds thin out before heading to the parking lot.
Another option is to park near the front of the park, if possible, for a quicker exit after a late night.
