Choosing the right rides and attractions can make your visit truly unforgettable. And don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. From my personal expert tips, this guide is packed with everything you need to know about the best Hollywood Studios rides for toddlers.
Why Choose Hollywood Studios for Toddlers
Why chose this park over the others? Well, Hollywood Studios is a wonderland for young children to step into the worlds of their favorite characters. It’s the only park with Disney Junior characters, and also has both Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
With unique attractions like Toy Story Mania and the Disney Junior Dance Party, toddlers will be obsessed! Plus, the variety of entertainment options, from live shows like Frozen Sing-Along Celebration to interactive experiences with Disney characters, make sure that families with toddlers will find something their little guests will love.
List of Hollywood Studios Rides for Toddlers
Full disclosure: there really aren’t a ton of toddler-friendly rides at Hollywood Studios. To be honest, there are really only two that I would fully consider perfect for toddlers. I’ll get into this more below, but this is because this park is full of really great attractions. Also, many rides have height restrictions, so they’ll need to be a bit older.
Let’s go over all of the ride options below!

- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Toy Story Mania!

- Alien Swirling Saucers – 32 inches
- Slinky Dog Dash – 38 inches
- Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run – 38 inches
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 40 inches
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue – 40 inches
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – 40 inches
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Location: Hollywood Boulevard
- Dark Ride, trackless ride
- 5 minutes
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is such a fun ride! With no height requirement, this ride welcomes the whole family. You’ll board a train with Goofy as the train driver where he’ll take you for a ride with lots of unexpected twists and turns.
This ride is really cute, but note that it is pretty loud, and the ride itself is jerky at times. I took my son on it when he was 1.5 years old, and he liked it, but I think the loud noises and jerking around make him a little nervous overall.
Toy Story Mania!
- Location: Toy Story Land
- Interactive
- 8 minutes
Ready, aim, fun! This interactive 3D shooting game is a blast for the whole family, toddlers included. With no height requirement, it’s an attraction where little kids can compete alongside older kids and adults, shooting at targets and racking up points. Even though it has been around since 2008, it remains a crowd-pleaser.
Alien Swirling Saucers
- Location: Toy Story Land
- Spinning
- 1.5 minutes
- Height Requirement – 32 inches
This ride starts the cute little Pizza Planet aliens! You swirl around in little saucers for a little under 2 minutes. from as young as 1.5, this is by far my son’s favorite ride. He’s a little taller, so he was able to get on at a younger age, but at 32 inches, your little one should be able to do this ride by age two.
And for those who get dizzy or motion sick easily, I’m here as one of those people to confirm that you most likely won’t get dizzy or sick on this ride. It switches directions, which helps offset that dizzy feeling.
This next set of rides all have height requirements, and I warn you to ride them with caution, as they are more until and consider thrill rides.
Slinky Dog Dash
- Location: Toy Story Land
- Thrill
- 2 minutes long
- Height Requirement – 38 inches
This ride is the highlight of Toy Story Land! You’ll ride in the coils of everyone’s favorite springy canine on Slinky Dog Dash, a roller coaster that offers fun dips and turns in Andy’s backyard that’s perfect for the whole family.
I would first introduce your toddler to an easier roller coaster like Barnstormer in Magic Kingdom before doing this one. Although not scary, there are some tips that your kid might not be ready for.
INSIDER TIP: Set out to book a Lightening Lane for Slinky Dog Dash first thing at 7 am, as it books up very quickly.
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
- Location: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
- Thrill, immersive
- 4.5 minutes long
- Height Requirement – 38 inches
Jump to lightspeed in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, where you and your crew take control of the most famous ship in the galaxy on a mission that’s as thrilling as it is immersive.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
- Location: Sunset Boulevard
- Thrill, big drops, dark
- 5 minutes long
- Height Requirement – 40 inches
Dare to enter The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, where a drop into the unknown awaits. This eerie, heart-stopping elevator plunge is wrapped in the mystery of a classic Hollywood tale gone wrong. Tower of Terror is not for the faint of heart.
Although the height requirement is 40 inches, it is intense. As a full-blown adult, I still get nervous about doing this ride. There are multiple drops, one of which looks over the park! If you have a thrill seeker, though, they’ve found their match.
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
- Location: Echo Lake
- Immersive, small drops
- 5 minutes long
- Height Requirement – 40 inches
Blast off on Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, a dynamic 3D space flight that takes you through the Star Wars universe for a different adventure every time.
Unlike Alien Swirling Saucers, this one might get you a little motion-sick.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Location: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
- Immersive, trackless
- 18 minutes long
- Height Requirement – 40 inches
Join an epic battle against the First Order in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, where immersive storytelling and cutting-edge technology make you feel like a part of the galaxy far, far away.

Because there is a small selection of rides suitable for toddlers, I wanted to share a list of attractions you can do, along with highlighting a few of the more popular options!

There’s no seating to encourage dancing, and it ends with bubbles showering down. It’s really fun to watch as a parent and even more fun for the kids to participate in.
For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
Join Elsa, Anna, and the hilarious historians of Arendelle for a sing-along that’s sure to enchant. The storytellers really make the whole experience a blast. This show is a wonderful way for families to experience the magic of “Frozen” together.
