As a seasoned visitor of all Disney resort tiers, I can confidently say that these most expensive resorts transform your trip. It’s not just about luxurious guest rooms or gourmet dining; it’s about convenience and maximizing your magical experience.
While value and moderate resorts have food courts and maybe 1-2 sit down restaurants, Disney’s deluxe resorts have a wide selection of dining options.
Not only that, but transportation options are better, and rooms are bigger. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
So, as you can already see, choosing a Disney Deluxe Resort means more than comfort; it’s about convenience, unique experiences, and being in the heart of the magic.

Benefits of a Disney Deluxe Resorts
There are an insane amount of benefits that go along with staying at a deluxe resort. With every one, you’re going to get everything from the list below.
- Extended evening hours. Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts or Villas can enjoy select attractions, shops, and dining after regular park hours. This benefit is exclusive to guests staying at these resorts. The My Disney Experience App will show you what days and which park has extended hours for you to take advantage of. This means shorter lines and lower crowd levels. So, if you are able to take advantage of the extra magical hours at night, I strongly suggest doing so.
- Multiple pools. Most Disney Deluxe Resorts have multiple pools, and they are truly some of the best pools on Disney World property. Deluxe Resorts also has really cute themed splash areas for kids.
- Dining options. Each Disney Deluxe Resort has multiple dining options. I’m talking about marketplaces, quick-service options, and table service restaurants. Some of the best restaurants on the property come from the deluxe resorts.
- Room options. Disney Deluxe Resorts offers more room options, including studios with plates, silverware, cups, mugs, a toaster, and a bottle opener. - Entertainment. Disney World Deluxe Resorts has more Resort entertainment than Moderate and Value Resorts. If you plan to spend extra time at your Resort or have kids, this is something to look into more.
- Guests staying at Disney Resorts also receive early park entry, priority Lightning Lane access, and free transportation. Many deluxe resorts include easy access to the monorail and walking distance to the parks. This alone, for me, makes the price tag worth it.

Let’s first get into my all-time favorite Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts:

- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
Below, I’ll go over a typical price range, theming, dining options, and the pros and cons of each! Let’s get into it!
Beach Club and Yacht Club
I’m lumping both Beach and Yacht Club together because they are connected, just in case you didn’t know!
My absolute favorite, the Beach and Yacht Club, embodies everything magical about a Disney vacation: unbeatable convenience, a laid-back yet elegant vibe, tantalizing restaurants, and the incredibly themed pool. It’s literally like stepping into a cozy, New England-style retreat.
The vibe is so casually elegant! You’ve got to try their amazing dining spots. And oh my gosh, the pools and lagoons at Stormalong Bay are like a little slice of paradise.
Plus, you can zip around Crescent Lake in a mini-powerboat – how cool is that?
If you’re looking for a bit of luxury, their Club Level Suites are the way to go. And guess what? It shares some perks with its more formal sibling, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
And the best part? It’s just a WALK away from EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
Let’s dive into more of what makes this Resort so special, starting with its theme.
THEME: Nautical vibes. Inspired by New England and seaside cottages from Newport in the early 20th century.

- You’ll feel like you’ve landed in paradise. The pool? It’s a sandy-bottom lagoon with a pirate ship water slide. You’ll never want to leave. It’s by far the best-themed pool I have ever seen. It’s like an actual beach, in pool form…truly one of a kind. If you want to get really fancy, you can rent a cabana, too!
- The rooms are spacious, comfy, and perfectly themed. The beds are like heaven right here on Earth.
- And location? It’s just a short walk to Epcot or Hollywood Studios, or take a boat OR even the Skyliner! So many options.
- It’s right on the Boardwalk, so you can easily access the parks and enjoy the Boardwalk, too!
CONS:
- The Quick Service options are limited unless you trek to Epcot. It’s not too bad, though. I personally really enjoy Beach Club’s Marketplace for a quick snack. They have lots of options, including plenty of healthy choices. You can also get alcohol there if you need a nightcap. Yacht Club’s quick service is smaller, but some good options remain.
- The pool is enormous, with so many fun areas, but if you have multiple kids, keeping them all in one area might be hard.
- Be prepared to shell out some dollars. It’s not cheap. Although cheaper than Resorts like Polynesian, Contemporary, Grand Floridian
Polynesian Village Resort
This place is surrounded by tropical palms and lush greenery – it’s stunning. Imagine spending moonlit nights soaking up the outdoor island vibes. And the food? Top notch. This Resort is one of the oldest on the property and has been a Disney fan fave since 1971. Once you visit, you’ll totally see why.
THEME: Polynesian – South Seas vibe
PRICING: $700 – $1000 (does not include villa pricing)

- It’s a Monorail resort, meaning you can get picked up by the Monorail right at the Resort.
- You can walk to Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom.
- It’s got newly themed Moana and Lilo & Stitch rooms, and the views of the castle are to die for.
- The restaurants are so fun! ‘Ohana serves up some killer family-style meals, plus you get to meet Lilo, Stitch, and friends. There is also Kona Cafe, Capt. Cook’s quick service, Trader Sam’s (for a fun drink), a dole whip stand, and more.
CONS:
- The price tag. Standard rooms start at around $700 per night, which is hefty.
- It’s so popular that it’s rarely on discount. You will almost always pay top dollar for a room at this Resort.
Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
If you want the finest, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is where it’s at! It’s a mix of Victorian charm and modern luxury. You can chill at one of the pools, treat yourself to an upscale spa massage, and get this – you can watch fireworks over Cinderella’s Castle right from the Resort at night.
It’s super convenient, too, just one Monorail stop away from Magic Kingdom Park. It’s like stepping back into Palm Beach’s glamorous golden era. You’ve got to see it for yourself!
THEME: Victorian-themed. The details are impeccable and spot-on for the Victorian era.
PRICE RANGE: $816–$1,300 (does not include villa pricing)

PROS:
- You’ll feel like Disney royalty here. Seriously, it’s so bougie. I feel like an imposter every time I stay here ?
- There are multiple pool areas, including a cute Alice in Wonderland-themed splash pad area for kids.
- You can walk to Polynesian and Magic Kingdom or hop on the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot. If you’ve got a stroller, the Monorail is a game-changer.
- The rooms are super spacious and elegant, and the beds are unbelievably comfy. IIt’slike sleeping on a cloud.
- Watch Magic Kingdom’s fireworks and the Electric Water Pageant on Seven Seas Lagoon.
- In my opinion, it has the best breakfast place on the property, The Grand Floridian Cafe. Love this place. Can’t say enough good things about it. It also has 1900 Park Fare (character dining), Narcooses, Cítricos, Garden View Tea Room, The Enchanted Rose, and the AAA Five Diamond Award winner Victoria and Albert’s! Talk about some options.
- Senses Spa is located here, too. I highly recommend squeezing in a spa day if you are going for a long vacation.
CONS:
- It’s pricey but worth every penny.
More Deluxe Resorts at Disney You’ll Love!
Wilderness Lodge
This one is so cute and hits home for me (I’m from the UP of Michigan, where log cabins and endless amounts of trees are the norm). It’s Disney’s version of America’s Great Northwest.
It’s like stepping into those grand National Park lodges from the early 1900s. The whole place is a tribute to American craftsmanship, and it really captures the wild beauty of untouched wilderness. It’s such a unique and rustic experience; you’ve got to see it for yourself!
THEME: Rustic vibe
PRICE RANGE: $400–$800 (does not include villa pricing)
DINING OPTIONS:
- Story Book Dining
- Whispering Canyon Cafe
- Geyser Point Bar and Grill
- Roaring Fork
- Territory Lounge
PROS:
- You’ll feel one with nature at this Resort that draws inspiration from the U.S. National Parks. This lodge gives me all the Girl Scout vibes. If you adore rustic elegance, this is your jam. Cozy by the grand fireplace, or dip in the Copper Creek Springs Pool.
- Another place for yummy restaurants, including Artist Pointe, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Geyser Pointe Bare and Grill.
CONS:
- The location is a bit further from some parks, requiring a boat ride to the Magic Kingdom.
- There is no walkway to the parks, which, in my opinion, is one of the TOP reasons to go Deluxe.
- While cheaper than some deluxe resorts, it’s still a bit of an investment. Is it worth it, since you can’t walk to any parks? Eh, I personally don’t think it is.
Contemporary Resort
Modern design meets Disney magic! This super cool, ultra-modern Resort has got everything – award-winning dining, incredible views, and some really cool pools.
Whether you’re in the iconic A-frame Contemporary Tower or chilling in the Garden Wing, you’re super close to Magic Kingdom. You can just walk to the main gate or hop on the Resort Monorail that zooms right through the tower!
And you’ve got to see the inside – there’s this massive, 90-foot mural by Disney Legend Mary Blair. She’s the one behind the unique style of the “it’s a small world” attraction. The mural is a stunning tribute to the Grand Canyon and the American Southwest. It’s seriously impressive!
THEME: Contemporary, Modern
PRICE RANGE: $500 – $850
DINING:
- Steakhouse 71
- California Grill
- Chef Mickey’s
- Contempo Cafe
- Contemporary Grounds
- Cove Bar
- Outer Rim
- The Sand Bar
PROS:
- This Resort offers a direct monorail service right through the building. How cool is that?
- And let’s not forget the fantastic views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Imagine watching fireworks from your room. Yeah, that’s a thing here.
- You can walk to Magic Kingdom.
- You also have some top-tier restaurants, including California Grille, Chef Mickey’s, and Steakhouse 71 (formerly the location for The Wave).
CONS:
- The modern design might not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you want that classic Disney feel. However, some of the newly renovated rooms are The Incredibles themed and super cute!
- There’s a no-go zone at Bay Lake Tower’s pool; explaining that to the kiddos isn’t fun.
- It’s not cheap. But then again, what’s the price of luxury?
Boardwalk Inn
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is an incredible resort! If you’re up for some old-school Atlantic City charm, this is your Resort! It’s like being whisked back to the turn of the century! They’ve got this amazing Luna Park Pool, and if you’re in the mood to unwind, there’s a super cool massage at the fitness center.
The place has carnival games, super unique dining spots, and a lively nightlife, all on this Coney Island-style boardwalk. Plus, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is strung along Crescent Lake – it’s gorgeous!
And get this: you can just walk to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios from there. My family love to end the night at Epcot, so the convenience of not having to wait for a bus, monorail, or Skyliner is worth the money!
THEME: Atlantic City boardwalk theme
PRICE RANGE: $450–$1,200 (does not include villa pricing)
DINING OPTIONS:

- Excellent dining options are available on the Boardwalk!
- The ambiance is straight-up Atlantic City boardwalk chic.
- Epcot and Hollywood Studios are both within walking distance. I personally love taking the Hollywood Studios walkway. It’s so peaceful, with such a pretty view along the water. You can also take a boat!
- If you want a dining option at Swan & Dolphin, Beach Club, or Yacht Club, you can also walk there for dining options.
- And, oh, the Community Hall is a paradise for kids!
CONS:
- The actual Boardwalk can get noisy, so ask for a room away from the action if you prefer a quieter setting.
- The Quick Service is a letdown if you’re looking for hot meal options.
- It’s pretty small. Limited availability due to its size.
- Again, it’s on the expensive side. But hey, you’re within walking distance of two parks! I find it a little cheaper than Beach Club, which is nice.
Animal Kingdom Lodge
If you’re an animal lover, this is heaven. It’s inspired by a traditional African kraal, so the whole place curves like a horseshoe, offering insane views of these lush savannas. And get this – over 200 hoofed animals and birds call these savannas home! It’s like your own personal safari.
The pool areas are super cool, and they’ve got all these fun animal programs. Plus, if you’re into art, they have one of the biggest collections of African art in the States.
It’s the perfect mix of an African adventure and that special Disney magic.
THEME: African Safari vibe
PRICE RANGE: $490–$1,200 (does not include villa pricing)

PROS:
- If waking up to giraffes outside your balcony is your kind of vacation, welcome home. You can literally watch zebras and giraffes from your room! It is unique because you can go onto your balcony to watch a giraffe stroll by.
- The theming is top-notch.
- Restaurants are also top-notch. Some include Boma, Sanaa, Jiko, and more. And if you see the beloved Zebra Dome Cakes, snatch one up because they’re a fan favorite!
CON:
- It’s somewhat isolated compared to other resorts, so you’ll rely greatly on Disney transportation.
- If you get a Savannah View (aka the view of the animals), you are looking at up to a half-mile trek back to the main lobby.
- No walkways to parks.
- Rooms with animal views are especially pricey, and animal sightings aren’t guaranteed.
- Transportation kind of sucks, especially if you’re not a fan of bus rides. I would make sure to budget for Uber rides.
Riviera Resort
Inspired by the grandeur of Europe, this is Disney’s newest deluxe Resort. It’s like Europe but with that special Disney twist. They’ve got all these exhilarating activities that’ll keep you on your toes and the dining? Absolutely delectable!
Plus, the accommodations are super stylish. It’s like getting a taste of Europe with that magical Disney touch. You’ll love it!
THEME: French and Italian Riviera vibe.
PRICE RANGE: $350–$975
DINING OPTIONS:
- Bar Riva
- Tololino’s Terrace
- Le Petit Cafe
- Primo Piatto
PROS:
- The Skyliner gondola system provides easy access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
- Let me just say it’s “chef’s kiss” all the way. Topolino’s Terrace is their top-notch restaurant that should be a must-try on anyone’s list.
CONS:
- Being new, it may lack some of the nostalgia associated with older Disney resorts.
- As the newest deluxe Resort, it has a high price tag.
- You can’t walk to any of the parks.
Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
It’s like stepping back into the late 1800s! The place is inspired by historic Saratoga Springs in New York, which was famous for its spas and horse racing. It’s got this really charming Victorian vibe.
The Resort is tucked away between these lush golf course greens and the sparkling Lake Buena Vista. And the rooms – from stately Studios to multi-bedroom Villas – are just fabulous.
Plus, the pools are really cool, and it the second location for Senses Spa.

- This is where you’ll find the second location for Senses Spa!
CONS:
- The Resort’s horse racing and relaxation theme may not appeal to everyone.
- There aren’t as many big-name restaurants as there are at other resorts. However, you do have Disney Springs, with some of the best restaurants at Disney World.
- Besides walking to Disney Springs, there is no other prime-time transportation like there is at other resorts.
OLD KEY WEST
If you’re looking for a slice of Florida Keys paradise, you’ve got to check out Conch Flats. It’s this peaceful little spot that totally captures the romantic vibe of the Keys. Next to perfectly manicured golf courses, it’s so chill. The pools are perfect for soaking up the sun, and the dining is super laid-back.
Plus, the rooms come with fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, which is super handy. It’s like your own little tropical escape!

There are these awesome clamshell fountains and elegant swans that just seem to watch over everything. And the vibe?
The Swan and Dolphin Resort is a worthy luxury option without the Disney price tag. Although not officially a Deluxe resort, it offers a comparable experience at a slightly more digestible price. This Resort has a TON of amazing restaurants. In fact, the resort even has its very own Food and Wine festival each year.
THEME:
It’s all about Florida’s unique style, with wave motifs and this really neat coral-and-aqua color scheme. It feels like a tropical getaway with a sophisticated twist!
